I'm so glad you've stopped by my blog! I am a Women's Minister and a former Pastor's Wife. I love finding God in my regular-everyday-stuff. I struggle with keeping up with the laundry, I love blogging, and my kids are my first line of ministry. I am recently widowed. So God and I are on a brand new journey as I try to find peace and understanding. Please grab a cup of coffee and let's get to know one another as we journey on our faith walk together.

Rocks in my dryer!

The other day I had one of those "marathon" laundry days!  Do you ever have those?  You sort, fold, put away, wash, dry, iron all the live long day!  My laundry room is off the side of my kitchen, in kind of like a basement.  It's not really a basement - because we live in New Orleans - and THERE'S NO WAY you can have a basement when you live below sea level!!!

But it is about 3-4 steps lower than our kitchen and during one run of the dryer I kept hearing this noise!  I just kept telling myself that it was probably coins from my husband's pants.  Of course that I had overlooked them - because I am a seasoned laundry-er and surely I would have checked all pants before washing, right?!

Upon opening the dryer, emptying it and folding everything - I found them!  No, not coins - but tons of rocks!!!  I grinned and even said outloud, "JP".  This was the works of my 3 year old son.  I'm sure that I'm a blessed Mommy to have only found rocks in my dryer and not other strange outside treasures.

I'm curious this morning...
What are some of the "treasures" you have found in the dryer!

If you're visiting me from iFellowship today - WELCOME!  I'm glad you "hopped" over!  Please let me know where you're from and I'll come visit you too!

What a find in your drier - I hope they were clean. My most embarrassing find in a washing machine is when the repair man was called as the machine stopped working he produced an under-wire from my bra that has come loose and twisted its was through the machine! I suppose that is why they say to handwash!

I always hated laundry days as well! My main problem was disappearing socks – which would get stuck in strange places in the washing machine. I think I have that solved now, but, still, isn’t there a way to make laundry fun??? Have a wonderful iFellowship Wednesday!

That was fun to read... you really painted a picture of you doing laundry in my head. Which leads me to ask... You iron?! Wow! ;) Btw, rocks are a great start for Laundry Art (I linked to my "treasures" with my name above). :)

Hope you have a WONDERFUL iFellowship Day! ♥ Michelle

Honestly, laundry day is one of my favorite days because I stay home! A few weeks ago I was angry at my son because I found gum in the washer and dryer. I find coins, facial tissue remnants, pens, all kinds of things. Never any rocks, tho. I have heard of cats parking themselves in there too. So be careful if you have pets!

LOL! It sounds like everyday at my house! I once found a worm, all dried up, in my dryer. I imagine one of the boys had it in his pocket and my quick feel (for rocks and coins) missed it because it was soft. Ick. Stopping by from iFellowship to say hello!

It was great "meeting" you last night! The twitter chat was fun! We finds lots of rocks and coins, lip balm and candy wrappers in our dryer. All things my son loves to collect!

OK, I love all of you young mothers' stuff you have found in your dryer and once upon a time I too found all that stuff, but let me tell you what you have to look forward to. HEARING AID BATTERIES!! Yep! They do make a noise. One more thing about dryers that Penny probably has forgotten that you might try. Any money found in our dryer became the possession of the person removing the clothes. Ah ha! Either I got some coffee money or i was relieved of my dryer duty. They finally wised up and learned to empty their pockets. It surely was fun for a while though.

Haha! That's great. I typically find shredded kleenex bits that were stuffed in pockets. The worst, though, was a washing machine disaster...my daughter's play lipstick in a pocket ruined an entire load. A little yeast leaveneth the whole loaf. I'll say!
