I'm so glad you've stopped by my blog! I am a Women's Minister and a former Pastor's Wife. I love finding God in my regular-everyday-stuff. I struggle with keeping up with the laundry, I love blogging, and my kids are my first line of ministry. I am recently widowed. So God and I are on a brand new journey as I try to find peace and understanding. Please grab a cup of coffee and let's get to know one another as we journey on our faith walk together.

Who is Penny?

My name is Penny Franklin.  My life has drastically changed from the day I started this blog...

I started "Living Above Ministries" when my husband & I moved to New Orleans, LA.  John had just accepted a Senior Pastor position there and I was serving alongside him as the Women's Minister.

You can read more about him on the "My Rockstar" page of my blog.  On December 30th, 2010 - the love of my life went home to be with the Lord.  I still cannot believe that I am a widow with 2 small children.  This is not what I thought my life would look like!!!

I was called into ministry in 2000 and have a heart for women of all ages, backgrounds, marital status - trying to figure out how to really follow Christ.  I love to mentor women and not just show them how to live for Christ but to actually walk this journey of faith with them!  My favorite thing is to sit and have a cup of coffee with someone and just talk about real life and how God can actually make their life better - in the big and the small things!

Today, 2011, I am back in Texas and have just landed a job as a high school physics and chemistry teacher.  I know that God will still use me in ministry - it just will look different than I ever expected!  I may not know what tomorrow will look like - but I do know that I will be obedient.  I will complete the assignment he has given me in this life.

This blog is all about my journey through the paths the Lord puts before me.  I know I will mess up along the way, I will need to confess daily my mistakes, but my Bible says that He provides grace upon grace - and I'm going to need this more than ever before!
