I'm so glad you've stopped by my blog! I am a Women's Minister and a former Pastor's Wife. I love finding God in my regular-everyday-stuff. I struggle with keeping up with the laundry, I love blogging, and my kids are my first line of ministry. I am recently widowed. So God and I are on a brand new journey as I try to find peace and understanding. Please grab a cup of coffee and let's get to know one another as we journey on our faith walk together.

God Arranged Places

Do you ever look around and wish you could be doing something different?  Maybe you want a different job, or maybe you have high aspirations of doing something BIG for God?  More than likely we all have dreams.  Dreams of truly fulfilling the plans God has laid upon our hearts and not only doing them well, but to the very best of our abilities.

While dreams and planning are crucial to our lives - sometimes we need to settle in to where God has us in the here and now.  I think far too often we're so busy looking down the road, that me miss the ministry that is staring us in the face in the present.

Did you know that it is quite possible that God has placed you in just the perfect place He most wants to use you right now?!  Check this out:

1 Corinthians 12:18 (ESV)
But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as He chose.

The context of this verse is about the various parts of a body and how an eye cannot declare he doesn't want to be an eye - for how would the body see.  And an ear cannot not declare that he doesn't want to be an ear - for how would the body hear.

I loved this verse this morning for it was a great reminder to me that God arranged exactly where I am and what I'm doing.  While I can prepare for future places, I don't need to get so entangled with what's to come that I miss my current assignment.  And my current assignment is a wonderful one:  wife of 8 years, mother to 2 young children, Pastor's wife, local Women's Minister, blogger with friends who follow faithfully, mentor to young ladies serving the Lord ardently, Bible study teacher - Whew!... this is a great place to be!!!

I don't know where you are this morning... but I hope that you find comfort that
where you're living
the place that you're serving
is a God arranged place.

He chose it just for you for His purpose and His glory.  Now go and live this "God arranged, chosen" place to the fullest!

Thank you for your blog today. I have been feeling quite useless this week. After reading your blog I realize that my place this week has been wife, homemaker and student of God's Word as I study for the lesson this Sunday. I will be thankful and joyful for my PLACE this week. Love you.

Well, Pen, I didn't read this until I got home from work at 6:30. After a day in the drive-thru, the computers went down, lined three-deep out to the street, check run out of balance, courier at the door to pick up proof work, shorted a lady $30--praise the Lord after all that I balanced , but now I hear that this was a God arranged place. Whew!! Ok,,, if I have to. I know you are right, but trust me about 4:00 p.m. I almost ran from that place screaming like a banshee.. This grandmother surely does need to retire.. The only thing is I'm not completely sure that retirement is a God arranged place for me right now. Ok! Ok!. I know I can't have it both ways. Thanks for the Word. Love ya..

I found that the best jobs are given to us by God. They pay with the smiles and thank you from the people we help and influence. God gave me some awesome salary of the years. A scout once told me that I taught him about God and that it was wrong to steal. I often bought a big shrimp sandwich on paydays and shared it with a co-worker who I knew couldn't afford it and forgot about it. Years later she came and thanked me for it and took me out to eat saying that I made her payday when we split that sandwich. You are where you are supposed to be in life, and if your cross is too heavy for you to carry the whole way, God sends his people to minister you and help you carry it to your destination. Thank you for being in the right place as a teacher and minister for me.
